Chhavi Rajawat is a role model for young India. She has been sarpanch of village Soda, Rajasthan, since 2010, during which time she has worked dedicatedly to transform the community into an example that can serve as an inspiration to others in rural India.
Chhavi's aim has been to work as a facilitator, to bridge the gap between the village and the government, as well as the non-government sector, by mobilizing the villagers, and to prepare the way for those seeking to help develop the rural sector.
Chhavi holds a business-management degree from Pune and a BA from Lady Shri Ram College (New Delhi). She had earlier worked in the private sector, holding senior posts with Bharti Airtel and the Carlson Group (among others).
An Aspen Fellow, Chhavi co-chaired the recent World Economic Forum India Summit. Included among the many honours she has received are the Yuva Award (2013), and being announced as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2012)
