Srinath is currently working to get his full certification from Peaks Coaching Group (formed by former cycling pro Hunter Allen, and dedicated to providing "power coaching to endurance athletes"), on how to coach and race using power meters. He's on track to becoming India's first PCG certified coach. Srinath also manages a couple of cycling teams -the Madrascals, and Team Trek Firefox Racing (which, incidentally, will be equipped with power meters from 2014). In the last few years, Srinath has been organizing trips, and has done 10 altogether - including one in Myanmar, in January 2012, with an international group .
From: Chennai, IndiaI have been cycling since 2006-07. I used to be a long-distance runner but suffered a knee injury. I then looked for something else and cycling seemed the obvious choice. I had my first taste of competition in a time trial in Chennai, in July 2009. I would compete regularly in time trials and in road races but had to give it up due to a heart condition. Currently, I'm a Level-3 cycling coach - I have been certified by the ABCC (Association of British Cycling Coaches). I train and advise 50-60 people, specializing in nutrition for cycling, losing weight and gaining strength. In addition, I teach cycling-specific yoga. I've had some memorable times on the bike - Bangalore to Chamundi Hills and back (February 2011), which was a 300km race; the Tour of Nilgiris and the Tour of Tamil Nadu (both in December 2010); the International Cycle Race (Chennai, January 2011). I've also done biking trips to Ooty, Kodaikanal, Yercaud and Coonoor .
