Deoban Forest Trek near Chakrata is a perfect trek to immerse in the wilderness of Uttarakhand, because you will snake through beautiful trail of Deodar forests. As the name suggests, Deo means Deodar trees and Ban means forest.

ITINERARY
Day 1 : Dehradun - Chakrata Forest - Deoban (Drive - 4 Hours (90km) / 6km Trek (4 Hours)
Arrive at the ISBT, Dehraduan before seven in the morning and meet our representative. Board the pre-arranged vehicle and get ready for a scenic drive to the Chakrata Forest area. Even though the distance to be covered is a mere 90km, it might take between three to four hours as there's usually a lot traffic on this route. We will be crossing the Yamuna River at Kalsi and later make our way to Chakrata.
Have an early Lunch and then start the trek from Forest Chowki. After a while, the trail changes from the tar road to a bridle path which the locals often use. Halfway into our hike and we will have a glimpse of the famous Chakrata Falls. The village of Mohna just above the falls is visible from here as well. The views along the trail are unending. Although no rivers are visible in the valleys, the intersecting spurs of the hills make for a beautiful vista. The campsite for the night is located amidst tall fir and pine trees and is protected from the chilling wind. Stargazing is definitely recommended here. Stay overnight in tents.
Day 2 : Trek to Kansar - Drop in Dehradun (7 Km Trek (4 Hours) / Drive - 4 Hours (90km)
After having an early breakfast at the campsite, we will start hiking to Kansar. Today, the trail you will follow, will be filled with variety of trees like oak, pine and rhododendron. We will be reaching Kansar after hiking for around four hours through dense forest. Have Lunch and later board the vehicle to start the journey back to Dehradun. Arrive in Dehradun in the evening and get o with your journey back home.
