The best way to experience Sikkim is to take a road trip through the state. Going from one town to another, passing through forests, crossing rivers and valleys, would not just rejuvenate your senses but also introduce you to the exquisite beauty of this land. During this 6 days tour of Sikkim in North East India, you would start from the quaint town of Pelling where you will visit waterfalls and gardens, moving to Gangtok and Tsomgo Lake. You would get a chance to relish the local delicacies and indulge in some shopping as well.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 01: NJP/ IXB to Pelling
Upon arrival at NJP/ Bagdogra Airport, you will be received by one of our hospitable representatives to assist you in your transfer to Pelling. The road journey to Pelling will be quite picturesque as you will pass by rivers, forests and valleys .Upon arrival at Pelling, check in to the hotel. Spend the quiet evening in the lap of nature and stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02: Full Day Sight Seeing In Pelling
Wake up early to the chirping of the birds, enjoy hot breakfast and embark on a full day sightseeing tour of Pelling. To start with, you visit Rimbi waterfalls, Rimbi Rock garden; Kanchandzonga waterfalls, Khecheopalri Wish Lake and then post lunch visit the Pemayangtse Monastery which is the oldest and the most revered Gompa in Sikkim. You will require walking up to the monastery as vehicles are allowed only up to a certain point. You will enjoy panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga atop the monastery.
Later drive further to reach the Rabdentse ruins which used to be the 2nd capital of Sikkim. It is again an architectural marvel. Although in ruins now it is a must visit place, as a small trail amidst dense rhododendron forest leads to this ruin which is quite exciting. Return back to Pelling and enroute visit the Tikjuk view point and helipad ground. You can enjoy some quality time at the ground as one gets a magnificent view of the Kanchenjunga ranges. You can spend the evening relaxing and reading a book in the comforts of your hotel.

DAY 03: Pelling to Gangtok
Leave early post breakfast for Gangtok. On the way, visit Ravangla, which lies on a ridge separating the Teesta Valley and Ringit Valley. It is located in the southern part of Sikkim. The small village is renowned for its unobstructed views of not only Kanchenjunga but also its sister peaks of Mt Kabru, Mt Pandiim and Mt Siniolchu. Enjoy a photo-op here and then move on towards Gangtok. On arrival check in at hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 04: In Gangtok (3+7 Points)
After having breakfast go for local city tour and visit Hanuman Talk, Ganesh Talk & Tashi View Point. Later proceed to visit The Rumtek Monastery, Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms (Closed on Sunday), Cable Car (Own Ticket), Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday), Do-Dul-Chorten (Stupa), & Flower show. Evening is free for leisure. Explore the bustling night life of Gangtok on M.G road. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 05: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (timing will depend on the issuance of Permit)
Wake up early morning as you will have to leave early for a day excursion to Tsomgo Lake - situated at a height of 3,780 meters and Baba Mandir, shrine made in memory of Sepoy Harbahajan Singh. The picturesque lake offers stunning views surrounded by rocky mountains. Return back to Gangtok by afternoon. Evening you can go for some last minute shopping or you may opt for trying out local Sikkimese cuisines for dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 06: Gangtok to NJP / IXB Drop
Post breakfast, you will be transferred to NJP/Bagdogra Airport for your return journey back home with memories to cherish for lifetime.
