Day 1: Barshaini – Rudra Nag – Kheerganga

1) When is the best time to trek Kheerganga?
Kheerganga Trek is such a popular one because it is accessible most of the year. The best time for the trek is between April to November, but the absolute best months are April-May and September-October, because the weather is very pleasant in these months. Trekking during the monsoon season should be avoided, as the path can become very slippery and muddy.
2) How is the network connectivity at Kheerganga?
As it is in the hills, network connectivity may be a problem. BSNL network works best, alongwith Airtel at some places. Take any important calls before starting to Kheerganga just in case.
3) How much time it takes to reach Kheerganga?
The trek starts from Barshaini, and the total trek distance is 12-13 km and it takes around 7-8 hours to reach the topmost point of Kheerganga. The hot springs, located at a height of 2,950m, will entice you to take a dip in the hot water after the gruelling trek.
4) Will I find any food stalls enroute or I will have to carry my own food?
Enroute to Kheerganga you will find 5-6 stalls where you will mostly find Maggi and tea being served. However, we also suggest you to carry protein bars, biscuits, apples, etc. as sometimes these stalls are out of stock, so to avoid hunger carry some food along with you. You don’t have to worry about water, as the massive waterfalls have really fresh water to fill up in your bottles.
5) What kind of shoes should I wear?
A good pair of water-resistant trekking boots that will provide you comfort, grip and speed will be best for the trek. Make sure to break in your boots before starting out to prevent foot sores.

I had previously been to Kasol from Delhi and it had been wonderful. The vibe there is something else. This time I decided to do a little trek from Kasol to Kheerganga. Because even as I stayed in Kasol last time, a lot of tourists told us to visit Parvati Valley and Kheerganga. I booked this trek with Adventure Nation. I wasn't anxious at all but they continually gave me needful information from the time I made the payment up to the first day of trek. The trek begins from Kasol so I took a bus to Bhunter first from Delhi and then took a cab from there to Kasol. Even though it was a two day trek, I had lots of fun!
Kheerganga trek from Kasol is a fun weekend getaway which can be added as an extension to your vacation to Kasol. It is added fun that adds more scenic, natural beauty to your vacation. Or you could do it over a random weekend if you're tight on time. It is incredibly budget friendly and makes for an awesome getaway with a bunch of friends or your family. I saw the promotion of this trek on Instagram and was instantly charmed in because of how budget friendly, and how convenient it is. I took a bus to Kasol where this trek begins and from there on went to Barshaini where Parvati and Tosh meet. From there we went to Rudra Nag and finally to Kheerganga. You will likely meet a lot of people on the way because this is definitely popular with tourists in North. Book in advance, a lot of people plan to go on this every year. All the best!
Kasol to Kheerganga is an aesthetically pleasing, soothing trekking experience that is really meant for all kinds of trekkers with all kinds of experiences-beginner or advanced. You have to reach Kasol on your own so keep that in mind. You will reach base camp in the morning and from there the journey will begin to Kheerganga. On the second day, you will be back from Kheerganga to Kasol. It is an easy adventure that spans two days at most and a fantastic way to explore Parvati valley! Amazing experience.
Parvati valley is the best place to be in Himachal Pradesh. The Kasol part has gotten a bit commercial over time. But the trek to Kheerganga is reasonably less mainstream and so beautiful! I have been here twice and the people you meet here are almost always so cool and friendly. You will have an amazing experience. Take a weekend out in summer and do visit this little paradise!
My journey of this particular trek began from Delhi. Took a bus to Bhuntar and from there, a cab to Kasol. And spent a few days there with friends. 2 days later after reaching Kasol, I went to the point of pickup in the morning and we went to Barshaini from there. Next, Rudranag and then reached Kheerganga. Amazing experience, as expected. From Kheerganga took the same route and back. Really enjoyed all of it.
I went on this trek a few months ago for a long weekend. What a lovely experience! Had the time of my life because I was accompanied by friends and all. Loved all of it, especially Kheerganga, obviously. But even the journey to that point was so so scenic. Had so much fun. Thanks, really!
