Itinerary:

Day 01: Bangalore to Trek Base
Gather at the pre-fixed pick-up spot, and then travel towards the base of the Kemmanagundi hill.

Day 02: Arrival at Base | Kemmanagundi Trek
After reaching the homestay, freshen up, relax for some time and then enjoy breakfast to gain energy for the ensuing activity. Later, take packed lunch, and embark on an approximately 0.5-hour drive to the hill base. After reaching the site, listen to the instructions given by your Kemmanagundi trekking guide, and then warm up a little. Then, begin the hike through lush forests and cross numerous rain-fed streams on the way. Initially, the jungle will keep becoming denser, but as you gain a significant elevation, the woods will start thinning. After a while, trees will disappear altogether and tall grasses will be all you see. This is the shola grassland biome, which characterises the areas at higher altitudes within the Western Ghats.

Once the around 4-km uphill trek to Kemmanagundi is complete, rest for a while. Use this opportunity to get your cameras out and click pictures of the scenery you see all around you. From a good height, the views are sure to be incredible. After enjoying your photography session and basking in the glory of the successful completion of the hike, start walking downhill for around 7 km towards Hebbe Falls.

On the way, stop to relish the packed lunch, you were carrying along from the homestay. After getting recharged, recommence your on-foot excursion to the waterfall. Upon reaching the site, click photos against the backdrop of the falling water, and take a dip in the cool stream that stems forth. Thereafter, begin the return journey to the homestay, and on arriving here, relish a cup of hot tea with light snacks. After resting, enjoy a delicious dinner, sitting around a bonfire (if the weather is clear), and share stories; later, get some sleep.

Day 03: Trek Base to Bangalore via Chennakesava Temple
Post freshening up, have tea/coffee to get reenergised, and then relish a scrumptious breakfast. Thereafter, check-out from the homestay and start the drive back to Bangalore. Once you reach Belur, visit Chennakesava Temple, an incredible example of Hoysala Architecture. After admiring the architecture and seeing ornate sculptures and carvings, continue on your way to the city. En route, have lunch at your own expense, and then reach your destination.
