Ambewadi is a tiny yet clean, beautiful, and untouched village surrounded by Kalsubai range and forts like Alang, Madangad, and Kulang. Your trek begins from this village. This trek to Kulang Fort offers a perfect blend of excitement and adventure and is apt for those who wish to take a break from their daily routine and explore the marvels of nature. The trek lasts for about 3 to 4 hours and takes you through dense forests, steep climbs, and uneven rock-cut stairs, some of which are believed to have been blown away by the British. On arriving at the fort, enjoy the splendid views of the Kalsubai range that is home to two other forts Alang and Madan. You can also view other forts like Patta, Aundha, and Ratangad. A very little history is known about this fort, except that the British captured Kulang Fort along with other nearby forts in 1818.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Kasara and Trek to Kulang Fort
At 3:00 AM, reach the Kasara railway station. Start your journey to the base village, Ambewadi, using local transport. Arrive at the base village at about 5:00 AM. After this, start your Kulang Fort trek. You will reach Kulang Fort at about 11:00 AM. Explore the beautiful surroundings and witness the panoramic view around you. Relish a delicious lunch at about 12:00 PM; after which, you can rest for a while. At 3:00 PM, explore the magnificent fort and all its treasures. Finally, at around 8:00 PM, relish a scrumptious dinner and retire for the night in the rock-cut caves.
Day 2: Kulang Fort-Kasara-Mumbai
At about 6:00 AM, rise to watch the beautiful sunrise. After this, enjoy a refreshing breakfast and explore more treasures of the fort. Trek back to the base village at about 9:00 AM. On arriving at the base village of Ambewadi, relish a scrumptious lunch. Finally, at about 2:00 PM, start your journey towards Kasara railway station and board the local train. You will reach Mumbai by 5:00 PM.
