ITINERARY:
Day 01: Leh
Arrive at Leh Airport on your own and from there you will be transferred to the hotel. Relax for the first half of the day and get acclimatized. After lunch leave for local sightseeing in Leh. Drive to the majestic Leh Palace and admire its unique architecture. Also visit Shanti Stupa that looks amazing in the evening – with its white beauty glowing amidst the Himalayas! Indulge in shopping at the local market and stay overnight at Leh.
Day 02: Leh Sightseeing
Have breakfast in the hotel and then leave to visit one of the most important monasteries in Ladakh. Travelling to Hemis Monastery is a thrilling experience in itself with the surroundings making the journey a memorable one. Later proceed to Thiksey Monastery where the monastery buildings are structured in hierarchical order making it a breathtaking sight! Enjoy a visit to once a summer capital of Ladakh - Shey and admire the marvellous monastery. Your last visit will be to the Sindhu Darshan where the famous movie, 3 Idiots was shot. Return to the hotel in Leh and stay overnight.
Day 03: Hike to Stok Gorge (5-6 hours)
This short trek to Stok Gorge will give an idea of what it’s like to trek in Ladakh. Have an early breakfast and leave for a cultural trek to Stok Gorge. We will drive to Stok Village which is also the starting point of the trek. We will explore this trail and enroute interact with the locals, knowing more about their culture and lifestyle. On the way we will pay a visit to the Stok Palace which is an elegant four-storied palace standing above barley terraces studded with threshing circles and whitewashed farmhouses. Return to the hotel in Leh and stay overnight.
Day 04: Zanskar River Rafting
Post an early breakfast, we leave for the ultimate adventure in Ladakh, which will get your adrenaline pumping like never before. We will head out to experience Rafting in Ladakh which will start from Schorpochay which ends at the confluence of Indus and Zanskar River. It will be one of the most thrilling experiences you will ever have in your life. On the way back to the hotel, we visit the Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and Hall of Fame. Stay overnight at Leh.
Day 05: Khardung La
Your trip to Ladakh will be incomplete if you don’t pay a visit to the highest motor-able road in the world. Visit Khardung La at 18380 feet and remember to get your pictures clicked. Here’s your chance to do the ultimate, try out mountain biking here. Cycle down all the way from Khardung La to Leh and enjoy the scenic beauty of Ladakh like never before.
Day 06: Pangong Tso
Today we will have an early breakfast and leave for a day excursion to Pangong Tso, the most beautiful lake in Ladakh region. Its beauty will surely leave you breathless. We will stop at Chang La to capture the amazing Himalayan vistas. The dazzling blue lake against the backdrop of the snowcapped mountains and clear blue sky is a picture one would not want to miss for anything in the world. After spending a good time around the lake leave for Leh and stay overnight.
Day 07: Leh Airport
Your amazing offbeat trip to Ladakh ends today! Pack your bags and you will be dropped at the airport.
