Your Trekking Expedition to Mera Peak will embark and end with a splendid short flight to and from Lukla, giving you vistas of entire Khumbu region and panoramic vision of some of the greatest mountains in the world.

 

In addition to this, climb the mountain during post winters and post monsoon period, as the weather might be clear and will not hamper your trekking schedule. We begin and close at Kathmandu and over a period of 18 days, going through myriad charming valleys, tiny tranquil villages, gushing streams and emerald meadows. Some days will be exceedingly stimulating and the others fairly stress-free. One thing that you can be certain about is that each day would be more memorable than the last in Mera Peak Expedition.

 

There are many treks in Nepal, however, if you’re looking for a high-altitude trek which also doesn’t involve much technical skills, then without a doubt, you must go for Mera Peak Trek.

 

ITINERARY

 

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

As soon as you arrive in Kathmandu, you will meet our representative, who will transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. No activities are planned for today, so you have time to arrive as per your suitability. You have entire day to spend time in city, explore the nearby area and at night return back to your hotel.

 

Day 2 : Flight to Lukla & Trek to Chutanga (3,020m)

Transfer to airport and schedule flight to Lukla (2840m). It is 35 minutes flight duration from Kathmandu. Meet you guide and porters and start the trek to Chutanga: The path traverses through beautiful forest, crossing several stunning landscapes.  On reaching, stay overnight in teahouse.

 

Day 3 :  Stay at Chutanga for acclimatization

Wake up in the morning, and head-out to explore the nearby surroundings. The day is kept for acclimatization, as moving further the altitude will increase and staying will help you to fight the high-altitude sickness.

 

Day 4 : Cross Zatrwa La and trek to Thuli Kharka (4,610m)

Today morning, you will start the trek to Thuli Kharka. You will proceed on a trail that is laden with Rhododendron forest and also boasts of an encounter with wild animals. You will also cross Zatrwa La and then while hiking, enjoying amazing views of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak and many other. On reaching, stay overnight in your pre-booked tea-house.

 

Day 5 : Trek to Tashi Dingma (3,520m)

Today after a quick refresh in the morning, you will begin the trek to Tashi Digma. On reaching, relax in your pre-booked teahouse and then proceed to explore the nearby surroundings.

 

Day 6 : Trek to Tagnag (4-5 hrs | 4,350m)

Today morning, you will start the trek to Tagnag. On the trek spectacle  amazing views of Kusum Kanguru peak and many other. Tagnag is known as a summer grazing area with lodges used by trekkers. On reaching, stay overnight in your pre-booked tea-house/lodge.

 

Day 7 : Rest day in Tangnag for acclimatization

Wake up in the morning, and head-out to explore the nearby surroundings. The day is kept for acclimatization, as moving further the altitude will increase whereas this will help you to fight the high-altitude sickness.

 

Day 8 : Trek to Khare (5,100m)

In the morning, wake up to see amazing view of the gild skies. You will also see views of the north of the Hunku Nup glacier and the lines of peaks beyond. The route towards Khare is mostly of an upward climb. On reaching, you will stay in a lodge, enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains.

 

Day 9 : Trek to High Camp (2-3 hrs | 5,800m)

Today is the main day as you will trek towards the Mera Glacier. It will take you around 2-3 hours to reach the base camp. You will get speechless with the views of Everest, Makalu, Baruntse, Kusum Kanguru and many other peaks. The camp is set in a picturesque location as you get panoramic views of some of the great mountains. Overnight stay in camps.

 

Day 10 : Mera Peak Summit and Return to High Camp (6,476m)

The toughest part of the trek is today, as you will climb the peak point of Mera. It will be an exhilarating climb but will also be little difficult, due to excessive cold and steepness. You will be roped up for much of the summit trek as a precautionary measure. You will see incredible views of Baruntse, Chamlang, and Nau Lekh with Makalu in the backdrop. After taking pictures, you will descend back to the high camp. Overnight stay at camp.

 

Day 11 : Stay in Tented Camp (Reserve day)

This day is kept for sudden weather changes and also if an extra day is required to complete the summit. It will help you to adjust with the high altitude temperature.

 

Day 12 : Trek to Kothe from Khare (7-8 hrs | 3,800 m)

Today you will hike for longer period. It will take you 7-8 hours to reach Kothe. You will first hike downwards to Tagnag and then to Kothe. Relax at the camp and stay overnight.

 

Day 13 : Trek from Kothe to Zatrwa (4,610m)

In the morning, you will begin the hike from Kothe to Zatrwa. You will observe the wide range of Mera peaks, Mera North and Mera Central.

 

Day 14 : Trek from Zatrwa to Chutang

Today morning, you will embark on a trail that is laden with gushing streams and Rhododendron forest and also boasts of an encounter with wild animals. You will also cross Zatrwa La and then while hiking, enjoy amazing views of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak and many other. Reach Chutang for overnight stay.

 

Day 15 : Trek from Chutang to Lukla

This morning, you will start the trek to Lukla. You will cross Chutang, and then you will see beautiful view of Lukla valley, Kusum Khangru, Cho yu, Kongde peak, Numbur Himal, and so many others. This will be your last day strolling around the Lukla valley.

 

Day 16 : Flight from Lukla - Kathmandu

Fly back to Kathmandu today from Lukla. It will take you 30 minutes. On your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, meet with our team that will escort you back to your hotel.

 

Day 17 : Departure

In the morning according to your flight timings you will be transferred to the International Airport.

  6. Any costs arising due to flight cancellation in case of bad weather conditions, sickness/accidental and natural disaster
  7. Tourist visa for Nepal and international flights to/from Kathmandu
  8. Climbing allowance of 2 High Altitude Sherpa (HAS)
  9. Group pick up from Kathmandu International Airport  on arrival will be at 1400 HRS,and drop will be at 11:30am guest have to report at airport before that to avail the pick up. 
  10. If somebody wants a pick up anytime other than the group pick up/drop  time the cost will be Rs. 900/- plus taxes per vehicle and 05 people can travel at a time
