DETAILED ITINERARY:

DAY 01: Arrival NJP/ IXB to Darjeeling
After arriving in NJP/Bagdogra, you are taken to one of the most popular hill towns of India, Darjeeling, in North Bengal. From here starts your perfect weekend getaway, when you drive through winding roads boasting magnificent views of the Himalayan ranges. Check in to the hotel upon arrival and spend the evening at leisure, exploring the areas around or strolling on the popular Mall road. Return to the hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

DAY 02: Darjeeling
Start the day at 4:00 AM to visit Tiger Hill renowned for the majestic sunrise over Mt Kanchenjunga. Gasp at the view of the first rays of the sun over the Kanchenjunga tip and then proceed towards the hotel. On your return journey, visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Reach the hotel, freshen up and have your breakfast. After this we head out for a local sightseeing tour of Darjeeling where we visit the famous Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & PNZ Zoological Park (both closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Self-help Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea garden (outer view), Japanese temple, Peace pagoda & Rope way (ride at an extra cost). Spend the evening enjoying some shopping in the local markets. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 03: Darjeeling to Mirik (60 kms 2.5 hours’ drive one way)
Today after having a delicious breakfast, leave for a day excursion to a nearby spot called Mirik, a small picturesque hamlet at 5100 ft with a beautiful lake surrounded by forested pine trees on all sides with the back drop of Mt Kanchenjunga. The drive to Mirik is equally awe inspiring as it runs through some fascinating tea gardens and pine forests. You may enjoy a horse ride or a boat ride on the lake at an extra cost in Mirik or you may choose to walk around the lake area. Return back to Darjeeling by late evening for overnight stay in the hotel.

DAY 04: Darjeeling to NJP / IXB
Today your weekend getaway to North Bengal comes to an end. After breakfast prepare to check out from the hotel. You will be transferred to the Railway station/ Bagdogra airport as per your return journey schedule.
