Popularly known as the Annapurna Sunrise Trek, Poon Hill is the most picturesque short trek if you want to admire the breathtaking views of the snowy and rugged Annapurna Himalayan range. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, enjoy the unreal mountain scenery and get enthralled with the enticing views of Annapurna and the Fishtail Range. The Annapurna region located in the Central Nepal is one of the most geographically and culturally diverse regions for trekking in the country. It has sub-tropical lowlands, stunning valleys, bamboo, oak, and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, windswept desert plateaus, and the towering mountains. What else would an adventurer need! The Annapurna region has the world's deepest river gorge, Kali Gandaki.

 

Our journey to the Poon Hill starts from Kathmandu which is one of the busiest places in Nepal. Next day we drive to Pokhara from where our adventure begins! The Poon Hill Trek will make you fall in love with Nepal and its Himalayan Range; it’s so splendid and beautiful! Along with the Himalayan panorama you will also get an opportunity to get close to the local culture of Nepal and interact with the people. The trail is a photographer's paradise so remember to carry your camera with you, as the pictures will later remind you of the amazing journey you undertook! Don’t forget to spot the striking panorama of huge Himalayas including Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, III, and IV, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu ranges.

 

ITINERARY

Day 01:  Arrival day (1,300m/4,264 ft)
On day one of the Poon Hill Trek, reach Kathmandu, the historic city of Nepal. Here you will check in to the hotel and take the rest for the day for relaxation.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Today will be spent sightseeing and exploring the cultural and historical sites of Kathmandu. Major attractions include: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath and Boudhanath.
Later in the day, meet with our team and finalize trekking gear for the trek ahead.
Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft)
Today, you drive through the scenic countryside to reach Pokhara. As you have the day at leisure, you can choose to visit the Phewa Lake and gaze at the beautiful sunset by the lake or just stroll around the local markets. you return to Pokhara for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul & trek to Tikhadhunga (1,540m/5,052ft)
You will start our adventure today and cross the scenic Lumle Village to Nayapul which is the starting point of our trek. you will trek along the Modi River and the forest of Rhododendron, and after crossing a small stream you will again cross Birethanti to reach our destination for the day.

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (3,194m/10,479ft)
On day four of the Poon Hill Trek, a steep trek of 2 hours will take us to Ulleri, from where you will trek further to Banthanti. Admire the views of Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli Mountain and Annapurna South Mountains from there. After reaching Ghorepani the view gets better and you will be able to see the spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and other mountains.

Day 06:Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2,590m/8,497ft)
You will start early today to catch one of the most spectacular sunrises! you will trek to the base of Poon Hill, and after an hour you will reach the viewpoint of Poon Hill to witness the mesmerising sunrise over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Varaha Shikhar, Lamjung Himal and other mountains. Capture the moments to keep them in your memories forever! After taking in the beauty of the scenery, you will descend to Ghorepani to have breakfast. Later you will descend to Tadapani to spend the night.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m/6,364ft)
Today you walk through the forest of Oak, Rhododendron and alpine floyours to reach our homestay at Ghandruk. The warmth of the locals will make the experience even more pleasant. you will be youlcomed by the traditional Khata, and traditional dance that will be performed in the evening.

Day 08: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft)
You will descend today through the scenic route with the views of beautiful Annapurna Range and reach Pokhara. Spend the night at Pokhara.

Day 09: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, (1,300m/4,264 ft) 7-8 hrs drive
On day nine of the Poon Hill Trek, you will reach Kathmandu and spend the day leisurely strolling around the historical sites of the city and the local markets. Spend the night at Kathmandu.

Day 10: Departure
The thrilling Poon Hill Trek concludes today.  Depart towards your next destination.

  1. The above cost is for a minimum group of 4 people travelling together
  2. We can operate a departure on any date if we have a minimum of 04 trekkers travelling together
  3. In case there is less number of people in the trip we may reschedule the trip to the next available date or refund the full booking amount. This will be informed 7 days prior to the start of the trip.

  8. Travel insurance that covers trip cancelation and Helicopter evacuation
  9. Tips (As an appreciation) and any other extending trips and accommodation.
