You can talk to the locals to know more about their daily activities, culture and traditions. After climbing a flight of carved stairs, you will reach the sacred site of Sondai Devi Temple. On reaching here, the one thing that will surprise you is that you won’t find any structure of the temple. Rather, you will come to a sight of an old stone idol of Goddess Sona Devi under the tree. This sacred temple holds a great significance for the locals, and you have to take out your shoes to continue the trek.

Itinerary
Pack your bags with all the important things that you may require for the trek. Keep the weight of your backpack light as it may create difficulty for you to climb up on the hilly path. Wake up early in the morning and make your way to the Karjat station. Have your breakfast after you reach and also introduce yourself to fellow trekkers.
Afterwards, you will be driven to the base camp by local transport through the lush green fields. You will arrive at the starting point of the trek within an hour. En route, soak yourself in the pure beauty of nature and enjoy the clean and fresh air which will rejuvenate you from within.
It will take around two hours to reach the top. Enjoy the stunning views as you have your lunch, and after another hour, get ready to start your descent to the base village, where you can rest and have some tea and snacks.
Head back to Karjat station to catch the local train back to Mumbai.
