Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Srinagar (5,200 ft)
On landing at the Srinagar Airport, transfer to the pre-booked house for an overnight stay. After settling your belongings, you can head out to explore nearby surroundings like Dal Lake and the Floating market. In the evening, you will be given a little brief about the ride, itinerary, bike allocation etc.
Day 2 : Srinagar to Kargil (200 km | 4-5 hrs | 8,779 ft)
Today morning, post breakfast take a wonderful ride on the famed Shikaras. After boating on the Dal Lake, get on your bikes and move towards the scenic resort town of Sonamarg. From here, ride to the summit of Zoji La, and then descend to enter the Ladakh region. Enroute, you can also visit the Hall of Fame to learn about Indian Army. Next, you will head to Kargil for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Kargil to Leh (220 km | 4-5 hrs | 11,482 ft)
The ensuing stretch of the motorbike trip to Leh Ladakh tour involves crossing two high-elevation mountain passes. On leaving Kargil, you pass through Dras, and a little further on, you will come across the Kargil War Memorial, and will have a chance to learn some incredible facts about the valour of the soldiers of the Indian Army in the 1999 battle. Day 4 : Sightseeing in and around Leh (11,482 ft)

The widely accepted fact that Hemis Monastery was built in the 11th century makes it among the oldest Buddhist establishments in all of Ladakh. Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche, whose enormous statue is enshrined in the main assembly hall of the monastery, is the most venerated deity here.
Shey Palace was constructed by King Deldan Namgyal in the 17th century, to serve as a summer retreat for his family. A statue of Lord Buddha, approximately 40 feet in height and entirely covered with gold, is the primary attraction here. As it sits atop a high hill, Leh Palace gives panoramic views of the entire city. Apart from the faded, yet breathtaking paintings on the palace walls, ornaments, crowns, and ceremonial dresses, displayed at the on-site museum, are worth admiring.
A symbol of world peace, Shanti Stupa was constructed by Buddhist monks from Ladakh and Japan. The structure displays numerous religious symbols and images of Lord Buddha. Post the city tour, return to the guesthouse and rest.
Day 5 : Leh to Nubra Valley (160 km | 2-3 hrs | 17,852 ft)
This section of the Srinagar to Srinagar motorbike expedition involves undertaking a scenic and thrilling road journey to the Nubra Valley. The road to the valley will take you across what is claimed to be the highest drivable road on earth - Khardung La. Upon reaching the village of Hunder, which is located on the banks of the Nubra River, head to the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay. You can also visit Diksit Monastery and spectacle the sand dunes and Bacterian camel.
Day 6 : Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (150 km | 3-4 hrs | 14,270 ft)
Today morning, you will leave behind the stark region and move toward the pristine Pangong Lake. Enroute you will pass through Shyok River and Tangtse village. On reaching the shores of this enchanting waterbody, take in its beauty and tranquility, and capture photos. Later, transfer to the campsite for a warming bonfire and a peaceful overnight stay in the lap of nature.
Day 7 : Pangong Tso to Leh (160 km | 3-4 hrs | 11,482 ft)
Reach Leh and enjoy the route that goes through Changla pass and visit the school featured in the movie 3 Idiots. Later have the rest of the day at your own leisure. Stroll in the local markets and buy some local handicrafts of the region before transferring to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 8 : Leh to Kargil (230 km | 5-6 hrs | 8,779 ft)
Today morning, you will head back to Kargil via the same route. You will cross Namik La and later Fotu La - both of which are located at an altitude of more than 12,000 ft above sea level. On entering Kargil, head to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 9 : Kargil to Srinagar (200 km | 4-5 hrs |5,200 ft)
Today is the last day of your bike tour. You will pass through Zoji La, and the scenic resort town of Sonamarg. On reaching Srinagar, you can take a wonderful ride on the famed Shikaras or spend the rest of the day at your own leisure. The Srinagar to Srinagar Motorbike Expedition will come to end.
