A trip packed with fun and thrilling activities for nature lovers and adventure seekers, this two-day itinerary includes a wildlife safari amidst the dense forests of Bandipur National Park. The park is one of the most famous tourist spots that plays a major role in conserving the ecosystem of India. Created in 1974, under the Project Tiger, Bandipur was formerly a hunting spot for the Maharajas of Mysore. The park is nestled in the mighty Western Ghats of Karnataka. Together with three other sanctuaries, namely Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary of Kerala, Nagarhole National Park in Karnataka and Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary of Tamil Nadu, Bandipur forms the famous Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. The park is home to a large number of tigers, jackals, panthers, sloth bear and Asian elephants.

The excitement doesn’t end here as trekking in Bandipur, observing the flora and fauna of the park is also a part of this trip. A day spent exploring the park will be an unforgettable experience for all travellers. ITINERARY:

Day 01: Bangalore to Ramangara | Ramangara to Bandipur Resort | Wildlife Safari in Bandipur National Park | Back to Resort

Early morning, you will be picked up from Marathahalli, Bangalore. After you leave the city, your first stop will be in the town of Ramanagara. After relishing breakfast here, leave for Bandipur. Enjoy and capture the beautiful surroundings during this approximately 4-hour journey. As soon as you reach the resort in Bandipur, have lunch.

Later on, you can relax near the swimming pool or try the various outdoor activities available at the resort to get rid of the tiredness. Thereafter in the evening, get ready for an adventurous safari in Bandipur National Park.

During this around 1.5-hour safari, capture the sight of animals, including leopard, wild dog, and sloth bear, barking deer, elephant, tiger and gaur. You can opt for either van or jeep safari to observe the natural inhabitants of this dense forest. If you are coming here during the dry months of the year, you will be lucky to spot the wild animals when they are flocking to the lakes for water.

Once free, you can visit the souvenir shop at the entrance to buy t-shirts, mugs and coasters with wildlife prints as memorabilia of the trip. Thereafter, head back to the resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 02: Trek in Bandipur | Departure

Wake up fresh for an audacious Bandipur trekking experience. The biodiversity offered by the park attracts a large number of tourists every year. On this 2-km trek, you will get a chance to admire the different flora and fauna species of the region. The spectacular mountain views can also be enjoyed by trekkers.

On reaching your destination, click memorable pictures with your fellows. After completing trekking in Bandipur, come back to your resort to freshen up and have breakfast. Later, head back to Bangalore for your onward journey.
