ITINERARY
Day 1 : Arrive in Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, and check in at the hotel. After freshening up, you can go out and explore the capital. With its fine mix of stunning architecture, ancient pagodas and peaceful lakes, Hanoi welcomes its guest with an eclectic and lively vibe.
After lunch, take a 3-hr tour of the old quarters of Hanoi and Hoan Kiem Lake area. Strolling through the old quarters you will be delighted to see bustling markets, laden with small shops of jewelries, shoes, silk, fruits, etc. In the evening, head out to explore Hoan Kiem Lake and visit to Ngoc Son Temple. After that relish Vietnamese cuisine like Banh Cuon (steamed rice rolls), Pho xao (stir fried noodles), Bun rieu(crab noodle soup) and Bun nem(commonly known as spring rolls). Overnight at Hanoi.
Day 2 : Hanoi (Day trip to Halong Bay & Lan Ha Bay) (156 km | 2-3 hrs)
Today morning after an early breakfast, you will proceed for Halong Bay. Enroute, get a glimpse of the farmlands of the Red River Delta. The stunning scenery of rice fields and Vietnamese villages will enthrall your senses. In the afternoon, you will explore Bai Chay Pier via a cruise boat. Relish a delicious lunch as you pass by Vietnam’s islets.
You can take a halt at Fishing Village for Kayaking. Also make sure to visit Thien Cung (Heavenly Palace Cave), which has an interesting history, and was rediscovered by a group of fishermen taking refuge from a storm after being forgotten for many years. It takes a bit of effort to reach, as you have to climb many slippery steps, but the sight you view at the end is worth it-a unique cave lighted up, with many streams, and the numerous stalactites and stalagmites that the cave is famous for.
You can also visit Dau Go Cave, which is believed to have come into existence 2 million years ago and is the largest cave in the area. Click pictures of islands of Ha Long Bay while cruising and return to the harbor where a shuttle bus back to Ha Noi will be waiting for you. Overnight at Hanoi.
Day 3 : Full Day Tour of Hanoi
Wake up to a beautiful morning and get ready to have a full day tour of Hanoi. Post a scrumptious breakfast, you will set out to explore the temples and museums. The first stop of your tour will be Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, where you can have an insight into the 54 different ethnic groups of Vietnam. Then proceed to the Temple of Literature & National University, French Quarter, Ho Chi Min Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison.
After visiting the prime attractions, it is time to taste some Vietnamese green tea. If you wish to try something eccentric, try out egg coffee. The evening is free for you to explore at your own leisure. Our suggestion will be to go to the world famous Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre.Overnight at Hanoi.
Day 4 : Hanoi to Hoi An (1hr 20m flight)
Today in the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to airport to catch a flight to Da Nang. On arriving, you will be transferred to hotel in Hoi An. After resting for a while, you will have lunch, and then take a stroll around the Ancient Town of Hoi An, popular for its architecture which is influenced by Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and European styles.
Next you will explore the central market, selling a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and fresh seafood. As you walk around, the fantastic fragrance of cooking will make your stomach hungry. Proceeding on, explore the Tan Ky Old House, The Old House of Phun Hung and the Quan Cong Chinese Temple. Marvel at the shops, art galleries, tailor shops and restaurants lined by the road. After dusk, the city lights up with glimmering lanterns and the scenery of the lights reflecting on the waters of the Thu Bon River will give you picturesque shots for your Instagram feed. Overnight at Hoi An.
Day 5 : Explore Hoi An & Da Nang
In the morning, today you will have an insight of Vietnamese villages and beaches. After breakfast, pack your cap, sunscreen, water bottle and camera and set out on your bike on an adventurous tour. Load your bike on a ferry and head to Cam Kim island, where you will be happy to see less crowd. Click pictures of rice paddies, scenic villages, rural scenes and crooked roads. See work of artisans at wood-carving shops, and explore the beautiful pathways of countryside. You will be visiting the Kim Bong Carpentry Village, along with Pottery village, Silk village, Vegetable village and A Bang beach. After lunch, you will visit Da Nang beach where make sure you taste the seafood for which the town is famous for. Overnight at Hoi An.
Day 6 : Exploration at Hoi An (Cham Islands day trip and snorkeling)
This day is entirely to give you a taste of Vietnamese adventure. You will spend time doing some water activities in the clear waters of Cham Islands, which is 18km away from Hoi An. After breakfast, reach the Cua Dai harbor to catch the boat for 30 min cruise to Cham Islands. On reaching, visit the Marine Protected Area, Hai Tang pagoda, and traditional fishing village. You can spend some time in the local market as well. Afterwards, go for swimming, snorkeling into the clear waters of the island, and then relish lunch with seafood cuisine.
After lunch, you will cruise back to Cua Dai beach harbor. On reaching, unwind at the stunning Cua Dai beach. Head back to town in the evening. Overnight at Hoi An.
Day 7 : Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon (1 hr 25m flight)
As soon as the morning unfolds, you will drive back to Da Nang to catch a flight to Saigon. On reaching, you will visit the Cu Chi tunnels before you check-in at the hotel. In the evening, go to Ben Thanh market for shopping and then taste the local food. Overnight at Saigon.
Day 8 : Exploration at Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon (Day trip to Mekong Delta)
Today morning, after breakfast, leave for a day trip to Mekong Delta. Reach Saigon around to catch the bus for the 2 hour ride to My Tho, which is the gateway to Mekong Delta. On arrival at Mekong Delta, you will be transferred to a wooden motor boat to Unicorn Island. En-route the boat ride, pass through natural creeks and quiet villages. Watch the local people working in their daily routine, visit the bee farm, then go to a village where you can smell the flavour of coconut candies, made by the local villagers.
Savor the flavor of exotic fruits like the durian, dragon fruit and ripe mangoes. Take a ride on a small canoe boat ride through narrow canals laden with beautiful palms and mangroves. Have a sumptuous lunch in a nearby village, post which a small boat will take you back to Mekong River, from where you go back to land. You will reach Saigon in around 2 hours. Overnight at Saigon.
Day 9 : Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon (Departure)
Today morning, after breakfast you will get transferred to the airport for your onward journey home.
