ITINERARY
Day 1: New Delhi to Chandigarh (260 km | 5-6 hrs)
Today as soon as the sun gilds over the skies, check-out from the hotel and travel to Chandigarh via road. You will travel along National Highway 1 where the lush farms on both the sides will keep you hooked throughout the journey. On reaching Chandigarh, check-in at your hotel/lodging and stay overnight.
Day 2: Chandigarh to Manali (320 km | 8-9 hrs)
Today early morning, you will check-out from the hotel, and will begin the trip with a drive to Manali. You will also pass the scenic hill station, Kullu, where you will drive along the Beas River. The sounds of gushing river will be like a melody to your ears. Relax at the hotel, and in the evening go for a leisure walk. You can also get a check of your motorcycle for it is comfortable and as per your requirement. Also, you can buy anything at the local market, and later enjoy overnight stay in Manali.
Day 3: Manali to Jispa (220 km | 4-5 hrs)
Today morning, you will start the motorbike expedition to Ladakh, and in the first part of the journey you will ride 130 km to Jispa. You will pass through the iconic place Rohtang Pass, from where the trees will start to disappear and lush grassland will take over. When you will be near to Ladakh, the greenery will also start to fade away, and brown barren mountains will take over. Carry cameras along with you, as moving further will take you to Baralacha La, which is among the highest motorable road on the earth. Stay overnight in Swiss tents.
Day 4: Jispa to Sarchu (90 km)
Start your bike expedition in the morning, the ride will take you through Baralacha La, which at about 16000 feet above sea level. The road is sturdy and the pavement, bumpy and rocky, so drive cautiously and slowly as this part of the road has claimed many lives.
Day 5: Sarchu to Leh (250 km)
As soon as the morning unfolds, you will ride for a while and then enter the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. The adventurous ride today will take you on the high passes like Nakee La, Lachung La and Tanglang La. En route. You can also pay a visit to the well-known Thiksey Monastery, and then head back to stay overnight at a hotel.
Day 6: Leh
After a healthy breakfast and enjoy your rest day at Leh or head out to explore the city. You will also go for a regular check-up of the bike and gears. Afterwards, visit the Leh Palace to enjoy the panoramic views of the Stok Kangri and Ladakh mountain ranges. Later head to the Shanti Stupa nestled upon the hilltop in the Changspa region. It was built to endorse world peace and to celebrate 2500 years of Buddhism. This monument hold the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself. In the evening spend time at the colorful markets of Leh.
Day 7: Leh – Khardungla Pass – Nubra Valley
Wake up to a stunning morning in Leh and embark upon the journey to the beautiful Nubra valley. Zoom pass world’s highest motorable pass called Khardung La at 18,490 feet for an ultimate biker’s experience. Ride on roads made of gravel and dirt – making it an exceptional biking adventure. As you arrive at Nubra, be mesmerized by the gorgeous dunes; the image will be imprinted in your mind forever. Camp in the Nubra Valley.
Day 8: Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso to Tangste (120 km)
Gear up for the adventure as you will now head to the Pangong Tso Lake. If you wish to do off-roading and river crossing, this day will give you the best adrenaline.
On reaching, Pangong Lake you will be amazed with beauty of it. Get greeted by a huge mass of water that stretches over a 100 km and extends from India to China. Take your camera along with you to click memorable pictures with the deep azure water or just stand there mesmerized by the lake’s beauty. After sightseeing, you will leave for Tangste for overnight stay.
Day 9: Tangste to Leh (120 km)
Wake up to beautiful sunrise over Pangong Tso and recommence your bike expedition to Leh Ladakh. Enroute, you will see the famed school used as an off-studio location in the hit Hindi film, 3 Idiots.
Day 10: Leh to Kargil (211 km)
Today the bike expedition to Leh Ladakh involves riding to the town of Kargil. Visit the Buddhist monastery of Lamayuru, which is perched at a height 3,510 m. Later drive on Fotu La mountain pass and then drive to Kargil. Stay the night in Swiss camps.
Day 11: Kargil to Dras | Dras to Srinagar (202 km)
Today embark on the motor bike expedition to Dras, which is the second coldest place on earth. Visit the Tiger Hill Peak, cross Zoji La pass and enter the breathtaking valley of Sonamarg, which is a famous ski resort. Later drive to Srinagar, where you may visit numerous attractions such as Shalimar Bagh and take a Shikara ride on the picturesque Dal Lake. Stay the night in house boats.
Day 12: Srinagar to Pathankot (350 km)
This morning, you begin the return journey through the Jawahar Tunnel out of Srinagar to Pathankot. Stay the night at a hotel.
Day 13: Pathankot to New Delhi (478 km)
Complete your amazing Himalayan excursion by travelling from Pathankot to Delhi via road.
